Ok, I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say it….. The best ice cream in Iowa can be found at Outside Scoop in Indianola and Ankeny. Although, the Indianola one is my favorite as I have been going there since 2017. A trip to Indianola to Brickhouse Tavern for Taco Pizza and then Outside Scoop for ice cream can't be beat!
The flavors they have are amazing. My personal favorite Dutch Letter Ice Cream, keeps me happy all the time! Then there is Dark Chocolate, Thin Mint and Key Lime pie that are so, so good too. You can see all of their flavors on their website. The next part is choosing the waffle cone. It's so good! Sure, you can get it in a bowl, but why not go for the tasty waffle cone!
Plus they have food trucks that can be found at different locations and festivals throughout the year. Or you can rent one for a private event (and invite me!).
I highly recommend you try some! It might just add 20 pounds to your gut, but it will be well worth it!
