If you have ever grabbed a selfie with the life sized Deadpool statue at The Operating Room in West Des Moines, Iowa, you know he looks incredibly realistic. But have you ever wondered what happens after 1:00 AM on the weekend when the bartenders leave for the night, and the doors are locked? I have a theory.
🕹️ 1:15 AM: Breaking the Pose
The minute the last staff member turns the key at the Mills Civic Parkway hotspot, the rigid plastic joints of Wade Wilson give way. He drops his signature selfie pose, stretches his calves, and immediately cracks his knuckles. Being an attraction for young kids and happy hour crowds all day is exhausting work. It’s time for maximum effort.
🍹 1:30 AM: Raiding the Slushie Machine
Before hitting the gaming floor, Deadpool hits the bar. Obviously, he can't get enough of those vibrant, sugary cocktail slushies. He flips on the machine, pours himself a giant mix of whatever flavors are left, and bypasses the standard cups to drink it straight from a souvenir syringe.
👾 2:00 AM: Domination on the Pinball Matrix
The Merc with a Mouth doesn't play ticket redemption games, he heads straight for the top tier pinball lineup. You just know he is aggressively shaking the Avengers: Infinity Quest or Godzilla tables, slamming the flippers, and talking endless trash to the digital leaderboard. If he gets a tilt warning, he just blames Wolverine.
🏓 3:15 AM: Extreme Air Hockey & Skee-Ball
Have you ever played that crazy, chaotic Air hockey game at The Operating Room? The one with the unexpected surprises? Imagine Deadpool playing that against himself, moving at superhuman speeds, accidentally slicing a puck clean across the room and into the Skee-ball lane. He completely dominates the 100-point pockets, racking up thousands of imaginary points just to buy a massive stash of plastic vampire teeth and stickers from the prize counter.
The Morning After Verdict
The next time you walk into The Operating Room on a weekend and notice Deadpool’s katanas look slightly shifted, or you see a stray pixel out of place on the pinball high score board... now you know why. He is just waiting for the lights to go down.
