Valentine's Day originated from the ancient Roman fertility festival of Lupercalia in mid-February, which was replaced by the Christian feast day of St. Valentine by Pope Gelasius I in the late 5th century. It later evolved into a romantic celebration during the Middle Ages, popularized by poets like Chaucer.
Today, it's just an excuse for companies to make money. Right? Well, that's what it seems like. Rose prizes are jacked up high, diamond ring advertisements are everywhere and people are trying to make those special dinner reservations for their loved one. But here's a thought? Why not just show love to the people you love all year long? Makes sense right?
Ok, so you like holidays. You do want to celebrate and give gifts to others, even though we just did Christmas 2 months ago. Well, your in luck. The stores have tons of options. And when I'm shopping I see them everywhere. Now, while I normally just go quickly by any Valentine's Day stuff, I did happen to notice some creative ideas at Target this year. Yes, these are dumb, but I found them clever, which makes a gift good for me.
So at Target, they had 3 different candy options that were perfect. They had a Claussen pickle, and Ore-Ida Fry and a piece of Chicken from KFC.
The sayings on each?
The Pickle: You Pickle My Fancy!
The Fry: I Only Have Fries For You!
The Chicken: I'm Drumstruck by You!
Those are perfect. Sure you only get some gummies inside, but the box does it! So if you are looking at the perfect Valentine gift for someone, look no further. If someone gets me one of these, I am their Valentine!
I hope everyone, has a wonderful Valentine's Day. But remember, it's how you treat and show love all year long that really matters. Not just on one day.
