Tight Rolled Jeans: What Were We Thinking?

The year was 1990 and I was a cool 6th grader.  I was always up to try the latest fashion trends, hair styles and other so called "cool" things at the time.  Well, in 6th grade the cool thing that everyone was doing was tight rolling their jeans.  Tight-rolled jeans (or "pegging") was a popular late-1980s to early-1990s fashion trend where the bottom hem of jeans was tightly folded, pinned, and rolled up to create a tapered, snug fit against the ankle.

I remember at the time it was the coolest thing.  But when I look back at it now, it looks so stupid.  I recently showed my kids who are 14 and 17 the style their dad use to showcase.  They just laughed at me thinking it was so stupid.  Although, I will say some of my old styles have come back over the years that they have copied.  Back when I was young, big baggy jeans were the thing.  And this past year, my son bought the same type of jeans I use to wear.  While some fads may come and go, I'm pretty sure tight rolled jeans aren't coming back.  One other thing I hope doesn't ever come back? The bowl haircut. Yes I had this. Yikes. Do you have any old styles you never want to see again?
