The "Twinkie Wiener Sandwich" is a fictional, humorous food item from the 1989 cult classic comedy movie UHF, starring "Weird Al" Yankovic. The snack consists of a hot dog (wiener) placed inside a split Twinkie, topped with canned spray cheese. The character George Newman (Weird Al) creates it to cheer up his friend Bob.
Two things here. Never heard of UHF? It was a classic movie in the late 80's. It had Weird Al and also Michael Richards, who plays Kramer on Seinfeld. It may be old, but it is funny and you have to give it a watch sometime. The second point is the Twinkie Weiner Sandwich. Are you telling me you have never eaten one of these? It's pretty common right? Lol. Okay, so it's weird. Sure hot dogs are a common food, but then putting a hot dog in the middle of a split Twinkie and then topping with canned cheese. That is just crazy! Or is it? Have you ever actually tried one?
All you need is 3 things:
1. Hot Dogs
2. Twinkies
3. Canned Spray cheese (such as Easy Cheese)
Then it's just a matter of boiling or microwaving the hot dog, then you turn a Twinkie upside down, cut it half way down and split apart to create a bun. Then throw the dog on top. Then you can't forget the cheese spray. Spray the cheese on top of the hot dog. That's it. Take a bite and enjoy. Have I ever tried this? Yes. Is it the best thing in the world..... no. But you gotta try it. Who knows, it may be your new favorite thing.
