Survivor 50 is Here: Join My Fantasy Game And Play Along

Survivor season 50 ("In the Hands of the Fans") premieres on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with a special three-hour episode at 8/7c on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The landmark 50th season features 24 returning players and will be preceded by a two-week "Road to 50" marathon of classic episodes starting Feb 9. Who else is excited? Anthony Bourdain - Read and Watch

Anthony Bourdain was a chef, a writer and a TV host that I was a big fan of thru the 2000’s. I started off by watching his show No Reservations (2005-2012) and then watched Parts Unknown (2013-2018) until his suicide during the filming of that show in June of 2018. During that time I also read several of his books as well. The coolest thing about Anthony Bourdain was he travelled and showed me what the world looked like in different areas and countries that I had no idea about. He would often times, not only eat at famous chef’s restaurants around the world, but would also get local grub in each area to see how they really ate there. The thing about his TV show was it was very calming. I could have it on in the background and I would learn something and just feel a calm feeling by watching. The Flat Cap: A Hat You Don't See Too Often

The flat cap is something you don't see too often here in the States. The Irish flat cap has roots dating back to the 14th century but gained widespread popularity due to a 1571 English parliamentary mandate requiring men to wear wool caps on Sundays to support the wool trade. Originally a practical, durable staple for rural farmers and workers, it evolved into a durable, iconic symbol of Irish culture and fashion, often crafted from Donegal tweed. I think what made me first like flat caps is because of my Irish heritage. I have always been a fan of looking at the history in Ireland and seeing what my ancestors wore. Cold Slither: How A Song From The 80's Haunts My Mind

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero had an episode called "Cold Slither" (Series 1, Episode 34), featuring the Dreadnoks as a rock band and originally aired on December 2, 1985. I was 7 years old at the time. The episode is well known for the song "Cold Slither" and featured characters Zartan, Ripper, Buzzer, and Torch. While I loved the show at the time, I didn't know realize that over 40 years later, that song would still be stuck in my head. In the show, Cobra used the song to control citizens minds. It was their mind control weapon. Now, I know this was just a cartoon, but I'm starting to think it was real! Now, hear me out. I am crazy, but not that crazy. But, the fact that the song just pops up in my brain from time to time, 40 years later, has me thinking there is more to it. We all sneeze in our life time. Sneezing is the body's natural reflex to clear the nasal passages of irritants, protecting the respiratory system from foreign particles like dust, pollen, bacteria, or viruses. When these particles tickle the nasal lining, nerves send signals to the brainstem, which triggers a forceful contraction of the chest, throat, and abdominal muscles to expel air. Tight Rolled Jeans: What Were We Thinking?

The year was 1990 and I was a cool 6th grader. I was always up to try the latest fashion trends, hair styles and other so called "cool" things at the time. Well, in 6th grade the cool thing that everyone was doing was tight rolling their jeans. Tight-rolled jeans (or "pegging") was a popular late-1980s to early-1990s fashion trend where the bottom hem of jeans was tightly folded, pinned, and rolled up to create a tapered, snug fit against the ankle. I remember at the time it was the coolest thing. But when I look back at it now, it looks so stupid. I recently showed my kids who are 14 and 17 the style their dad use to showcase. Every winter I am tasked with putting together a Winter Olympics for my office. It’s fun, can be used as great team building exercise and gets people away from their desk and moving around. Twinkie Wiener Sandwich: Would You Eat?

The "Twinkie Wiener Sandwich" is a fictional, humorous food item from the 1989 cult classic comedy movie UHF, starring "Weird Al" Yankovic. The snack consists of a hot dog (wiener) placed inside a split Twinkie, topped with canned spray cheese. The character George Newman (Weird Al) creates it to cheer up his friend Bob. Two things here. Never heard of UHF? It was a classic movie in the late 80's. It had Weird Al and also Michael Richards, who plays Kramer on Seinfeld. It may be old, but it is funny and you have to give it a watch sometime. The second point is the Twinkie Weiner Sandwich. Are you telling me you have never eaten one of these?
