Move over St. Patrick, because St. Brogan is coming to town. For years Irish Americans along with many others have celebrated St. Patrick's Day in America in March. My question for you is.... Why just St. Patrick? There are many Irish saints who deserve a day of recognition, especially St. Brogan. Besides, it's an excuse to have a Guinness and have some fun! Anyways, St. Brogan's feast day is 6 months after St. Patrick's day on September 17th. So get a pint, call some friends and join in the festivities. Remember this year it is BYOB (Bring Your Own Blarney)!
"May your pockets be heavy—
Your heart be light,
And may good luck pursue you
Each morning and night."
Who was Saint Brogan: Saint Brogan (Broccán Clóen) was a 6th/7th-century Irish cleric, abbot of Ross Tuirc in Ossory, known for authoring a hymn to St. Brigid and having a feast day on September 17th, though several Irish saints shared the name, including a scribe possibly related to St. Patrick. He's remembered for his piety, association with St. Brigid's miracles, and as a figure in early Irish monastic life.
