Thanksgiving Watching - What to Watch

So you get a couple days off for Thanksgiving.  Let's be honest, at some point during that time you will be watching TV.  Sure there is shopping and family get togethers, but that turkey makes you tired.  So just sitting on the couch and watching your favorite holiday classics are a must.  But the problem is, Thanksgiving doesn't have a lot of options.  Sure you can look ahead towards Christmas and have tons of options of things to watch... but it's Turkey Day! Let's see what your options are on Thanksgiving to watch.

1. First things first. The Thanksgiving Parades - The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is the biggest one of the holiday.  I have been watching this since I was a youngster on TV. While it's not the most entertaining option, it's tradition to at least have it on the tube in the background.  The 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade starts on TV at 7:30 a.m. CT on NBC and streams on Peacock in all time zones. An encore broadcast will air on NBC at 1 p.m. CT.

2. Football - Yes, the majority of Americans watch football on Thanksgiving. Like it or not, most people coming over for Turkey will wanna watch. You have 3 games on throughout the day to watch on Turkey Day. If you don't like football they are perfect to sleep thru!

3. Movies - I will be honest, there are no good Thanksgiving movies. I mean, movies actually about Thanksgiving or with that as the main theme are barely available.  There are a few options out there, but they are not good. So my advice, skip movies on Thanksgiving.  The Friday after, you can start your Christmas movie list!

4. TV Shows - This is where you can find some of those classic episodes from old TV favorites.

- First Choice: Watch Friends "The One with All the Thanksgivings" Season 5 Episode 8. This one is a classic!

- Second Choice: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. It's the holiday classic for the ages. Charlie Brown and Sally are supposed to go to their grandparents, but end up getting hoodwinked into inviting the likes of Peppermint Patty, Franklin, and Marcie.

- Third Choice: Watch Modern Family "Three Turkeys" Season 6 Episode 8. Phil and Luke are in charge of prepping the turkey for the main dish — what could go wrong?

- Last Choice: Seinfeld "The Mom and Pop Store" Season 6 Episode 8. Elaine wins Mr. Pitt a spot holding Woody the Woodpecker in the Thanksgiving Day Parade, everyone is invited to Tim Whatley's night before Thanksgiving party except Jerry.

So there you go.  There is your Thanksgiving on the screen this year. Everyone have a wonderful day filled with fun, food and family!
