525,600 Minutes, 525,000 Moments: How Do You Measure a Year?

525,600 minutes

525,000 moments so dear

525,600 minutes

How do you measure, measure a year?

There are only so many minutes and moments in a year.  As we get closer to the end of another year, I want to take a look back on how I spent it.  Really, to be honest, the year seems to have flown by and is just a blur.  Now, that I have gotten older and my kids are in high school, it doesn't seem to go slow anymore.  But, am I really appreciating my time here on Earth? Am I really taking advantage of everything that I get to enjoy each day?

525,600 Minutes: That's how many minutes you get in a year. 1,440 minutes a day.  But how are you choosing to use those minutes.  Have you ever looked at what you get paid an hour and divided it by 60. It's interesting to think that's how much you are getting paid per minute. Do it.  When your not at work, not getting paid for those minutes, how do you spend them?  Do you take time for others, for yourself each day? Are you wasting them by staring at your phone or TV? For me I spend way too much time staring at a screen. My mission, my goal for this next year is to exercise more. Sure, we all say it each year, but for me, I will do it!

525,000 Moments: Each year we all have lots of moments in our lives.  But which ones are the ones that you will remember?  Are you making moments that you remember?  For me it seems I do so many things that don't really matter.  I don't really give them a second thought.  I need to start taking the time to enjoy those moments and make them memorable.

So how can we make the last minutes of this year matter?  To make life matter, focus on living in the present, cultivating meaningful relationships, and aligning your actions with your personal values and goals. You can achieve this by practicing gratitude, engaging in self-care and learning, performing acts of kindness, and pursuing passions and purpose.

Here are some of my other goals for this next year. Come up with your own, and make a plan how you will do them!

- Set and pursue goals: Set small, achievable goals to build momentum and a sense of accomplishment.

- Learn and create: Try new things, develop a new skill, or create something new, whether it's art, cooking, or a project.

- Nurture relationships: Invest time in meaningful connections with family, friends, and your community.

- Prioritize self-care: Make time for your passions and ensure your healthy habits are non-negotiable.

I hope everyone has a wonderful end of this year and new start to next year! Make it the best one yet!
