Most Points in a single game (Men): The Iowa State men's basketball player with the most points in a single game is Lafester Rhodes, who scored 54 points in an overtime victory against Iowa on December 19, 1987. ISU beat the Hawkeyes 102-100 in overtime. This was a great game with rosters laden with future NBA players (four for Iowa: Roy Marble, Bill Jones, B.J. Armstrong, Ed Horton and two for Iowa State: Jeff Grayer and Victor Alexander.) But Lafester Rhodes stole the show this day!
Most Points in Regulation Game (Men): Melvin Ejim holds the record for the most points scored in a regulation game (48 points) on February 8, 2015 against TCU. He shot an incredible 20-of-24 from the field (83.3%), including 2-of-2 on threes, plus 6-of-6 on free throws, for 48 points and a career-high 18 rebounds.
Most Points in a Game (Women): The all-time single-game scoring record for the Iowa State women's basketball team is 47 points, set by Audi Crooks on November 30, 2025, against Indiana, breaking her own previous record of 43 points and also setting a new record for most field goals made in a game (19).
Who's next on the list? Will these ever be beaten? We will see.
