After Joshua Jefferson recorded the 9th triple-double in Iowa State history yesterday, it got me thinking about who the other ones were. So after doing some research here is the answer. I'll be honest, I've been a Cyclone fan my whole life I have never heard of Marc Urquhart even though he's not that old. The rest of them I remember, and it makes sense how that were able to get the triple-double. But here's the list of Iowa State Men's Basketball players with the elusive triple-double:
Marc Urquhart recorded the first triple-double in school history on Jan. 9, 1989. He finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Illinois-Chicago.
Jamaal Tinsley recorded a triple-double for Iowa State on January 8, 2000, against Missouri, finishing with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists, becoming the second player in school history to do so and the first Big 12 player with one in conference play.
Curtis Stinson recorded just the third triple-double in Iowa State history with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Colorado on February 5, 2006.
Royce White posted just the fourth triple-double in Iowa State history, and the first in a road game, with 10 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists to help the Cyclones end an eight-game losing streak to the Texas A&M Aggies on January 7, 2012.
Monte Morris recorded a triple-double for Iowa State in November 2016 against The Citadel, with 17 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in a record-setting 130-63 win, becoming the fifth Cyclone ever to achieve the feat, notable for his perfect 10 assists and zero turnovers.
Tyrese Haliburton recorded a triple-double for Iowa State on January 4, 2020, against TCU, with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in an overtime loss, marking the first Iowa State triple-double since 2016 and earning him Big 12 Player of the Week honors.
Tamin Lipsey had a triple-double against DePaul on December 1st, 2023. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assistants to help Iowa State win 99-80.
Keshon Gilbert had 10 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for the eighth triple-double in Cyclones history against New Hampshire on December 31st, 2023.
Joshua Jefferson had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to become the ninth player in Iowa State history to record a triple-double against West Virginia on January 2nd, 2026.
