The 100 is a post-apocalyptic science fiction drama that aired from 2014 to 2020 on The CW. The series was developed by Jason Rothenberg and is loosely based on the young adult novels by Kass Morgan.
The story begins nearly 100 years after a nuclear apocalypse destroys civilization on Earth. Humanity survives aboard a giant space station called the Ark. When resources start running low, 100 juvenile prisoners are sent back to Earth to see if the planet is habitable again. What they discover is that Earth is far from empty.
If you like:
- Post-apocalyptic stories
- Survival dramas
- Moral gray areas
- Fast-paced sci-fi
- Shows where “nobody is safe”
then The 100 is definitely worth watching.
It’s not a perfect show, but it’s memorable, emotionally intense, and much smarter than its early episodes suggest. Most fans agree the show’s strongest stretch is Seasons 2–4, while the later seasons depend heavily on whether you enjoy more experimental science fiction. Personally, I think it's a good watch for any true sci-fi fans out there.
Now finding where to watch it, is a big harder. But luckily, you can view all 7 seasons on Pluto TV for free. Just click here.
Out of 10 Popcorn Kernels, I give it a 6.5.
