Prancercising: Is It Real? Does It Work?

It seems like in this life people are always looking for the next exercise fad. Well in 2013 Prancercising was the new crazy way you could workout.  To be honest, I hadn't heard about it until now, 2026.  But I was busy dealing with kids and the internet wasn't as crazy as it is now.  So what is Prancercising?

Prancercise is a low-impact, rhythmic, and, "springy", exercise routine that mimics a horse's gait, created by Joanna Rohrback. It combines walking, jogging, and, skipping to create a, "holistic" fitness experience designed to promote, "physical and spiritual excellence".

So the question is, would you try this type of exercise if it meant losing weight? There's the "Prancercise Trot" in which you maintain a steady pace while alternating your arm movements, before you "let it loose" with the "Prancercise Gallop," a springy-stepped jaunt with wider swings of the arms. The "Prancercise Box, or shadow-box prance" involves ankle weights being moved to the arms where they are used for punching air mid-walk.

In 2013, John Mayer featured Joanna Rohrback, the viral creator of "Prancercise," in the lyric video for his single "Paper Doll". The video showcased Rohrback performing her signature "half-skipping, half-horsey" exercise routine in a suburban setting. This collaboration was viewed as a quirky, meme-driven marketing move for the song. Watch the video below.

Here is the official video showing Prancercising.  Just picture yourself doing it!

So what do you say? You gonna try and get fit?
