Growing up it seemed like Bob Ross was always on public television. So it seemed like he would be on in the background a lot in my household. I would stop playing with my Transformers and GI Joes once in a while, and what always struck me as amazing was how his paintings would just all of a sudden appear. One minute you would just see a bunch of colors on the canvas and then, BOOM, it all started to take shape. It was amazing how mountains and trees would just all of a sudden come out of nowhere and make a wonderful painting.
It's interesting because I got a coffee cup this Christmas where it just shows Bob Ross with a blank black background. When you fill the cup up with hot water one of his paintings appear. It's amazing because that's how his paintings on TV always seemed to be. I'm sure there have been other painters on TV, but none other that I have really watched. I wonder if there will ever be another like Bob Ross?
Bob also has many famous quotes throughout his career. Here are a few classics I enjoy:
