Kool-Aid Pickles Recipe - Sounds Weird, But Give It A Shot!

I had been hearing about Kool-Aid Pickles and was intrigued.  Which meant I had to try it out.  The beauty about making these at home is it's cheap and easy.  Just got to be a little patient.  Because once you get it all together, you need to let the pickles sit in the fridge for 5-7 days.  Then you can give it a try.  You can pretty much try with any flavor of Kool-Aid, but I went with the classic cherry flavor because it tastes good and I thought it would pair well with a pickle.  Because I know what goes well with pickles.  Lol.

So here's what you need:

- A jar of dill pickle spears

- 1 packet of Kool-Aid (any flavor)

- 3/4 cup of sugar

In a large bowl drain the pickle juice from the jar.  Add the sugar and the Kool-Aid packet and mix together until everything is dissolved.  Pour the pickle juice back into the jar, tighten the lid and shake really well.  Then put it in the fridge.  Each day shake the jar to keep it mixed up well.  At the end of 5-7 days it's time to try a Kool-Aid Pickle!

Below is my reaction the first time I tried the Kool-Aid Pickle.  The first bite, the taste thru me for a loop, but on bites 2 and 3 it tasted good.  I really do see, on a hot day how this could be a nice little treat.  Plus, it costs less than $5.00 to make this treat!

My advice is to pick up your favorite flavor of Kool-Aid and give it a try!
